The International Office offers an extensive support programme for international scholars pursuing doctoral or postdoctoral research at Bielefeld University.
The main goal of this program is that international doctoral candidates are paired up with more advanced doctoral candidate as mentors. Mentors help you find your feet in everyday life at Bielefeld University, help you with administrative matters and sorting out formalities in official authorities and can give you useful tips,

Graduate students enrolled in a German-language course of studies for their dissertation can ask for specific and well-directed feedback concerning their academic competence and get support in writing their dissertation in German.
Graduate students enrolled in an English-language course of studies for their dissertation can improve their German at Bielefeld University.
