MentScience is an inter-faculty mentoring programme for doctoral candidates in the Center of Excellence Cognitive Interaction Technology, in the Bielefeld Graduate School for History and Sociology (also financed by the Excellence Initiative-) and in the CoR-Lab Research Institute for Cognition and Robotics. MentScience started in October 2009 and runs until April 2011. It offers a modular programme for female graduate researchers which includes group coaching, tailor-made trainings, networking and a support programme. At the heart of the programme is individual coaching for female graduate researchers by experienced researchers and or someone in a leading position outside the university. MentScience has been developed on the basis of the quality standards for university mentoring programmes developed by the national group "Forum Mentoring e.v."
